Preventing rent arrears

P1010706Preventing rent arrears

We know that there’s often not enough money to make ends meet and that sometimes people struggle to pay their rent. This can happen for a variety of reasons, but by avoiding the problem means it will only get worse.

If you are having difficulty paying your rent, or are facing a change of circumstances which could affect your income, you need to contact us as soon as possible. We provide a friendly, approachable and understanding service to tenants with such problems.

We can provide advice on a range of matters including how to repay your arrears in manageable amounts, budgeting or claiming Housing Benefit or other benefits you are entitled to.

Failing to pay your rent

The consequences of failing to keep up your rent payments can be very serious and could result in you losing your home. We may need to take action through the court. This could allow us to:

  • Deduct payments from your benefits
  • Take court action to claim part of your wages
  • Seek a Court Decree to evict you.

Again, if you are worried about your rent payments don’t let it get to this stage; contact us as soon as possible.
