At home with Fife Housing Group – 26 August 2020

26 August 2020

Welcome to our final round-up of information and advice which you may find useful during the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

Although our office is still closed to the public, we remain fully contactable on 08000 274 007 and via info@fifehg.org.uk. Please also note that our text number changed to 07520 632 740 on Monday 6 April.

As lockdown restrictions start to ease, we are beginning to reintroduce previously suspended services – you can find more details regarding this here – however, we are not yet at back at full capacity and continue to appreciate your support and patience as we work towards a new normal.

Reporting repairs

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the most efficient way to report standard repairs is through our website, however, gas central heating repairs are best reported directly to the relevant contractor using the contact details below or by calling 08000 274 007 and choosing the option which puts you through to the correct gas contractor for your area.

East Fife (Hill of Beath to Ceres) – Kingdom Gas – 0800 389 9463

West Fife (Dunfermline to High Valleyfield) – City Technical – 0333 202 0708

Fire safety self-assessment

A new online fire safety quiz has been launched by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to support people to stay safe at home – and potentially save lives.

The ‘Fire Safety in the Home – Self Assessment’ survey asks a series of simple questions and then automatically generates a home fire safety report.

Check how fire-safe you are here.

A new newsletter?

Our tenant newsletter will return to the standard printed format for issue alongside our Landlord Report in October, however, we continue to look at options to move this online for tenants with email addresses going forward.

Obviously, we’ve been communicating with you online a lot more during lockdown, as this has been a quicker, more convenient and cost-effective way to keep in touch with the majority of tenants, however, we also understand that some people do not have access to the internet or simply prefer to receive paper copies.

We’re really keen to strike a balance between these two options so we’re asking all of our tenants with email addresses to complete a quick survey and let us know whether you would like to keep receiving newsletter content direct to your inbox or if you would rather continue having a paper copy delivered to your door.

If you haven’t done so already, please do let us know your thoughts – it shouldn’t take more than two minutes to complete the survey.

Garden Competition 2020

In these uncertain times, our Garden Competition took on a different format this year, with residents being asked to submit photographic images of their gardens. The standard of entries was as impressive as ever though and our judges had a very difficult job choosing the winners.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in this year’s competition, the level of commitment was truly inspiring and offered so many wonderful examples of stunning outdoor spaces, within both private garden spaces and communal areas.

You can check out the full gallery on our Facebook page, however, we are delighted to announce the winners as detailed below:
