Fife Housing Group continues ‘Giving Something Back’ by donating a further £7,500 to local support projects

21 January 2022

This winter, we have made an additional £7,500 of donations to programmes helping some of the most vulnerable people in our communities at what can be a really difficult time of the year.

Colleagues visited Levenmouth FoodbankDunfermline Foodbank (which also serves Rosyth, Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath) and Fife Women’s Aid to make donations before Christmas.

At their visit to Fife Women’s Aid, colleagues met with staff who spoke about the large increase in the number of women seeking out their help since the pandemic hit, meaning that they now have over two hundred cases on their waiting list.

Colleagues will also be visiting Kirkcaldy Foodbank and the Fife Migrants Forum to present them with their donations in the coming weeks.

The funding is available due to the generosity of the Group’s contractors who have joined their charitable framework and pledged to donate 2% of their invoiced costs to benefit these worthy causes.

Last year, Fife Housing Group also launched their Giving Something Back Grants programme, awarding £15,000 worth of funding to various organisations including Fife Gingerbread, which supports single parents, and Pink Saltire’s The Hive, a community hub for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Giving Something Back Grants programme will be running again this year with applications open to any charitable organisation operating in Fife. More information regarding this will be available on Fife Housing Group’s website and social media channels in the coming months.

The contractors who have made our Giving Something Back programme possible include MAC Roofing, Rogerson Plumbing, QAPM, Moffat Electrical Projects, Bell Decorating Group, Eurojet (Scotland), Pankhurst Decorators, Saltire Facilities Management, Kingdom Gas, City Technical, Shine Cleaning Services, Belac, Virtue Services Group, RB Grant, Forth Plasterers, Mitie Property Services and Metro Rod.
